Lighting help

I acquired a 1972 350sl (European) that I am restoring. It has been sitting for 15 years, and one of the problems I'm working on is the lighting circuit.
Here are the symptoms I have.
No dash lights (and no "dimmer" on the dash)
Right headlights inop
Foglamps inop

The car had a DOT conversion when it was imported in 1983. The "bifocal" euro headlamps were replaced with US versions. I checked with my VOM and I don't have power at the connector at the rt headlamp, but there is power for the t/s and parklamp. The left side is OK.
Are there separate relays for left and right headlamps? I have yet to get into the fuse box and relays as I don't have a schematic yet, but from what I've seen so far, the circuits on this car are quite basic.
Any info on the engineering methodology is appreciated.

Well without any more info than I already had, I started by going back to the basics and checking fuses with the meter. Before I could do THAT, I had to translate the legend on the fuse cover to English from German (thank goodness for the internet).
All but 1 of my problems wound up being fuse related. BTW, the parklamps, low beams, and high beams have left and right side fuses. Corrosion was the culprit with my lighting and horn problems, now I just have to get into my dash lights then it's all mechanical.

My dash light issues centered around the dimmer rheostat. Pulled the cluster and cleaned the dimmer. Cleaned and checked all the connections and all was good.

Is the dimmer the small knob to the right of the trip reset knob?
