Euro headlights

I really like the look of the Euro lights, what can I expect to pay for decent set used? New they are a bit outrageous.

I wonder if you could cram a pair of these in a 107?

Define "decent".

Bad reflectors = very difficult/expensive/impossible to repair/replace
Bad adjusters = require fabrication to repair/replace
Bad gaskets = hard to find replacements in US, bad gaskets cause bad reflectors/adjusters
Note that replacement FRONT glass, best price I know, is $40 a side, so are the sides. Not easy to find.

Bottom line: Used bargain Euros = not always a bargain once restoration is considered

Try this guy...

http://www.katmac.com/

I have a set of headlights and taillights on my 300CE from him.

Makes the car look sharp, too...

thanks for the info, and tips, yes decent would mean functional, and although probably possible I doubt the Ford van lights would work ( LOL)

Watch out on Ebay for PLASTIC leneses....true Euros are glass lenses.
Adsit has them for about $500/pair. NOT intuitive to install. They sell as plug and play - but you have to wire some to make high beams/low beams/fogs work with the "light out" sensor.

I got in my re-aluminzed reflectors for the side markers and main headlamps today for my "junk" set of Euros. It wasn't cheap, I did the prep work, and I'm not sure that the supplier is interested in doing this on an ongoing basis. But damn, they look great, and, in fact, are better than new with two-part direct to metal epoxy underneath the aluminum and UV-cured topcoat above. Now, I have to re-make the adjusters, get new lenses, etc.

This time, I'm going to do a neater job on putting in blinking side markers; I got proper three-wire sockets from (I think) some modern Chrysler, I modified them and will screw them to the frame of the Euros. I did some UNBELIEVABLE, icky, hacky stuff to do this on the 380SL, but it isn't visible and looks very good.

I also got legit euro plugs for the back.

If you get the later model set with the vacuum adjustment they won't fit in the '72 headlight housing without modifying the housing. You need the early ones with out the vacuum.

I bought Bosc replacement lenses for $34.37 each, free shipping.

Do they have to be from a 107?

There have been ay least 8 to 10 grey market cars in the various PNP around here as of late.Mostly 116's,but no euro lamps to be found.
If I run across some from another body style(116 or 123)would they work in a 107?
There was a private owner parting out an SLC but the euro lamps were gone before I ever contacted them...Sold them to a neighbor apparently.
I'll be on the watch!!
