1972 450sl steering wheel removal with horn wires
Hello to all:
Got a '72 450sl that I need to remove the steering wheel. I've read the threads on this forum and the manual, seems straight forward. Almost too easy but there is no mention regarding the wires for the horns ?? !! I would greatly appreciate/need real experience before I go in. On early cars like mine: Remove center logo, 22mm nut with spring washer; and pull out the steering wheel. OK ! Now what about those horn wires ? (two wires going to each side horn button) Do the horn wires come with the steering wheel and are disconnected from behind ?? Is there enough slack ?? Thanks for sharing your experience on this matter. Happiness comes from such simple things in life. |

Steering wheel has brushes and rings for the horn. No wires to disconnect to remove the whole wheel.

Thanks, Nascar Fan.
But of course, "brushes" makes all sense. I got to stop thinking like a British Car guy ! |
