HELP--450SL gas tank removal steps

Just bought my 1st MBZ 07-03-08. Prior Owner of this 1976 450SL parked it as a running driving car 6 yrs ago. Prior to parking it he had just replaced interior, rag top, and rerouted the cats. He parked it when the trans started to leak, the brakes got low, and he became uneasy with the timing chain due to 126K miles. He intended to continue his restore when life got in the way.
Presently the car wont start unless fuel is dumped down its throat. I want to remove the gas tank and start there. I want to take it to a radiator shop to have it cleaned out. I have started removing it. I removed the rear trunk steel wall and now the tank is exposed. I have removed the 5 small diameter braided hoses that attach to a plastic vent tank situated above the gas tank. I have remove the 2 tank to body securing bolts from each side of the tank that are in that area. I have removed the end of the braided fuel hose from the fuel pump but it is still threaded into the flange that is either a part of the tank or is possibly a removable component. I cant tell yet due to my poor vantage of laying on my back in the street looking upward using a flashlight. I didnt want to pass on my 1st MBZ due to my temporary poor repair location issues....With all of this done the tank moves a little bit but still appears to be fastened in place somewhere else. Is there a securing component that has to be accessed through the convertible top well? I need to remove the hard top and this will not be convenient in my current repair location situation so I want to ask rather than just jump into removing the hard top. If I must remove it I will.
Any and all advise here is GREATLy appreciated

You need to remove the return hose from the left side of the tank and use a crowfoot to remove the main fuel hose from the bottom of the tank. There is also a piece at the filler neck you need to dick with. And don't forget to unhook the fuel sender (under the top well).

Do a search, this is really well-documented in an earlier thread.

It may appear the tank is still fastened somewhere, but it's probally the rubber seal located by the fitting at the bottom of the tank. The seal is about three inches square and should break loose with a few shakes of the tank. Good luck
