shifter linkage

Hi All,

I had to replace the plastic bushings on the sifter linkage rod on my '83 380SL. I have not paid too much attention and do not remember which orientation the rod was in. Is the rod on the left side or the right side of the shifter stick connector?

So the linkage rod is further away (instead of closer) from the drive shaft, right?

Yes, and closer to the driver's side of the car. You always see a picture of these things on the EPC or the Russian site - http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb0.asp?TP=1 then 380SL, then 26, then 60.
