72 350sl windshield wiper repair

I recently turned on my wipers, only to see the right one (from the inside) go over and the left not move. I shut them off immediately and have not tried since. Are they cable driven and where do I begin to troubleshoot and repair them. Any advice would be appreciated.

try removing the wiper arm and tighting the retaining nut...
