Nice car, but the writeup was painful to read.

Thumbs up

The muffler!

None the less, I like the 280SL/300SL in the 107... strange cars.

This is a problem I have had getting an appraisal for insurance.

The appraisers have no clue about these cars or the current market values, and just use the NADA figures.

I paid a guy $150.00 to appraise my car and he came up with $18k plus taxes for $20,500 for a '72 350SL that is in great shape, but needs a soft top and the A/C does not work. I suspect I would be lucky to get $10k if I sold it today.

But if it got wrecked, then you might make out pretty good. Ya think?

First tip off is it's in Rancho Mirage....according to Webster thats a problem here. Thanks for posting this I was laughing so hard a co-worker had to come in and check to make sure I wasn't seizing.
