cruise control repair report
Yes! Yes! Yes! Cruise control finally. 1988 560SL
Symptoms: Total lack of function. First repair attempt: Resoldering of cc amp PC card. Results negative. Second attempt: Replace cc PC card. Results positive. Part source: ebay, cost $45.50 + $10.00 shipping for a used but "tested good" unit. Tip: Although this is a repair accomplished by many, my method may be different. Instead of removing the amplifier assembly or the bracket to which it attaches, I pried the tabs on the cases open, slid the old card out and replaced it with the new card in the old case while in place. When I pull spare amps from pick and pull yards on W123 types I smash through the fuse panel under the hood with a hammer and reach in and unbolt it. Simple as pie!

it is not an easy bolt to get to, and it is often very tight.
