Mysterious White Plug
2 Attachment(s)
While doing the instrument removal & installation routine, I came across two pairs of wires dangling loose, as shown in the photo. The bulbed socket is probably the famous-for-being-loose "Rotary Exterior Light Switch" illumination lamp as mentioned here...
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-benz-sl-discussion-forum/205140-what-behind-dash-located-light-bulb.html and here... http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c107-sl-slc-class/1375702-light-behind-headlight-switch.html#post2869728 ...and I'll be attempting to get that back where it belongs. My query is about the white plug. The wires are black and black/green, which matches the front speaker wires in the MB electrical diagram. I just want to confirm that this is the factory speaker wire before I snip it. My radio & speakers long gone (second photo, please excuse the filth). Thanks in advance. |
Looks like a Becker speaker plug. They were black or white, the two blade connections are 90 degrees from each other.

looks like the connection to the radio speakers to me, ( from the radio) the other end would actually end up at the speaker ,

Thanks fellas, that's what I was hoping to read.
When I removed the front speakers, they were Infiniti brand. So, the original wires must've been pulled and new wires run between the replacement speakers and Sony head unit. |

I always solder on the factory pigtails. But I guess that's too much to ask of an electronics store. |
