Original would be the 6 inch, V-8s had the 6.5 inch.

Either will work just fine.

The 5.5 inch wheels usually are only seen on the 4 cylinder diesels...

You can find the 6 inch wheels on early W123 300Ds, W116 6 cylinder sedans and w108 6 cylinder sedans.

The 6.5 inch wheels would be on early R107 V-8s, and W116 V-8s, before the bundt cake alloy became the defacto standard.

All will have the correct offset for your car.

Original tire size was 195/14, but 205/70/R14 will work just fine.

Stephen, let me know how it turns out for you. Mine has 14" BBS alloys at present. When I purchased it also included the original steel wheels and hubcaps which I should not have sold, would very much like to get back to stock.

Jim, thanks for the interchange info, will save me much time.

thanks Jim

Hi Jim

thank you so much for all the wheel info. I will go for the 6.5j..the early V8`S
look so nice on that size steel wheel.

I was worried about this size wheel and tyre (205) fitting under the rear arches..

and "hanno"..of course I will post and let you know how it all works/looks etc

once again thanks

Stephen
