380SL Occasional Hard Start

Hi--

I just changed the fuel injector seals. Within the past 1,000 miles, new plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor.

I changed the injector seals due to some stumble at idle, and that is cured.

Now, occasionally when starting, it takes cranking for 15 to 20 seconds, then very rough idle until I give it a bit of gas.

Once running, the car is strong and smooth.

Because of the hard starting and early very rough idle, I put a container (12 oz, I believe) of High Strength STP injector cleaner into about 10 gallons of gas.

Still have the starting/idle problem.

What should I look at next?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Joe

cold start issues are as follows, rule out each one

lack of fuel pressure/volume
jammed or sticking air flow sensor
aux air vavle sticking
cold start injector not operating
thermo time switch defective
sticking control plunger
restricted injectrors

Hard Start

Thanks, Meltedpanda.

It seems that my trouble is on a hot start or actually, warm start.

What should I look for to deal with warm start issues?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Joe

I would consider all the issues noted above, and add leaking injectors to the list

Hard starts when warm are usually caused by a faulty accumulator, located near the fuel pump and filter.
