Headlamp Replaced 500sl
All-
I just replaced my headlamps 0n my 1992 500sl with PIAA 9004 starwhite replacement bulbs, it took about 90 mins. The procedure is the same for both the passenger and driver side but the passsenger side is more difficult due to the washer tank. The procedure: 1. Remove the cover: There are arrows on the cover to instruct you to push the left/right tabs in. Push the tabs in, pull the cover back a bit and lift up. 2. With the cover removed, disconnect the wiring harness from the bulb. 3. Twist counter clockwide the lamp "holder" and remove it. 4. Wiggle out, pull out the bulb. Nothing else holds it but it may take some effort to free it. 5. Reverse the procedure for the replacement bulb. As stated, the drivers side is pretty straight forward and enogh space to get it done but the passenger side is a bit tricky. The passenger side is obtructed by the sindshiled washer tank. However you can move it up and out of the way and remove/insert the bulb from underneath it. Hope this helps. -andy |
