hydraulic fluid for top

I have a 1998 SL500. The soft top is half up. The hydraulic fluid is low. What type of fluid do I need to purchase?
My owners manual says MB hydraulic fluid.
It is Saturday and my shop is closed, what should I buy at the auto parts store ?? Did I say it was raining ??
Thanks

Grab a tarp.
I'd only use the original fluid -- that system is troublesome enough without risking incompatible fluid.

I think that you may have the same problem that I do, a hydraulic leak. I emailed Dennis Ficken

and he gave me lots of help on how to fix the leak. I would also only use the original fluid.

Febi 2615 is OEM fluid and is also used in the self leveling system. Phil at FastLane [a site sponsor] has it.
