Sometime in the past,a PO had removed the factory fog lamps an put in some little "projector" beams in their place. The never had all the wiring connected and they didn't work
Jump to the present where I've re-installed the original rectangular lamps courtesy of a junked SLC.The wiring had been cut,but I took a long pigtail off the junked car and matched up all the color coded wires. The lamps now work as they should.
I now have a new problem though...Whenever the headlights are on with the engine running the warning buzzer goes off constantly. It doesn't do this if the engine isn't running and it makes no difference if the fog lamps are on or not.I unplugged the 12V to the fog lamps but this made no difference.I tried unplugging the 4 pin door switch on the drivers door, wondering if it thought the door was open?No change there either. The dome/underdash lighting works correctly.
Could whoever botched up the fog lamps before have done something to the harness/switch?It acts "backwards",i.e. not buzzing when it should, buzzing constantly when it shouldn't.I'd just try and locate.remove the buzzer, but I don't want to lose the "safety" of a warning if I should try to leave the lights on.
I have little patience for these type of electrical "gremlins".Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
