Reseal on steerig box 500SL
Hi Can any one tell me where I can find info on resealing a steering box on a 91 500SL.

90% of the time its the lower seal leaking and it can be replaced right in the car. Getting the Pittman arm off can be a *****.

Reseal on steerig box 500SL
Hi Guys
Thanks for the replys, unfortunetly the leak is from the input shaft seal so in this case the whole box has to come out and appart. The pitman arm came of very easy as it is on a straight spline with a pinch bolt, which when removed the arm almost fell off. It is going to the dealer tomorrow. Chuck |
