dipstick tube

A question for those of you who have dropped the oil pan on a 117.967 engine:
Is the outlet of the dipstick tube at the rear of the crankcase?

I would like to use my oil extractor with the front wheels up on service ramps. Please don't tell me to "just use the drain plug".

So does that mean it's best to park the car nose down on a slightly sloped driveway for maximum oil extraction with the Mityvac/Topsider? With the ramps in this orientation (so as to be able to get to the filter on my '83 380SL), the car actually sits almost level because the slope is equally offset by the ramp incline.
