leaking hardtop on '84 380sl
Hi all,
Spent the weekend pulling the carpeting out and mopping up water. What started as small annoying leaks left about a gallon of water in the car after the last of our South Carolina rainstorms. I have leaks in both the front corners of the hardtop - nice rain collection that seeps in while driving. And water literally drains down the back window now. Started as a small drip and has gotten progressively worse. Short of buying some waterproof caulk ('84 380SL hardtop Leaks thru Rear Window), does anyone have a disassemble diagram for the roof. Other thoughts? Sympathy? thanks! |

Leaking Hardtop
Attached is a parts diagram of the hardtop that might help.

Great, thank you for the diagram. If I go the route of dissembling the entire top, this will be handy!

Thanks for posting this- I too had to pull the carpets out after a deluge this weekend, my SL leaks like a sieve(sp). I had water pouring down the front by my feet on the drivers side as well the passenger side.rrrrhhhhhh.
