Attaching SL Hard Top
I'm having difficulty when attempting to tighten the rear latches pulling the top secure at the rear of the car. Extremely difficult to turn these latches, located behind the backrests. Top will eventually attach when I pull vey hard on these latches, but I don't want to break something off inside there. I have applied a light coat of grease, but it didn't relieve much tension.
I also applied a thin strip of tire inner tube on the bottom of the hardtop where it comes in contact with the body, in front of the trunk. I did this to prevent scratching the paint. I don't think the inner tube is thick enough to cause the problem I've described? I was wonderinf if there is an admustment that can be made. |

The metal trim on your top should not contact the body. The seal is in contact with the body. Did you tighten the side latches first. then the front, then pull up on the lever to draw the back down?
