500sl code7
I have had trouble with rough running. I checked the codes and got a code 7 on pin 8 that is knock output in EAL/AKR to CFI faulty. What do i look for? Woukd it be the wiring? I am unfamiliar withthis setup!
I can tell you that it happened suddenly and the vacuum (MPG) on the cluster is pegged to the left! Also it hardly starts and will not come off idle until it warms a bit tnd then there is a hesitation. Actl like timing is retarded. thx

rough idle problem
my 95 sl500 did the same thing and replacement of the coolant temp. sensor fixed problem but be very careful removing connector as the wiring insullation could have turned to powder and that might be the whole problem if the sensor does not resolve problem, can get sensor from allmercedes.com for around $28.00 ordered one day and got the next,they are in CA. I am in NC.
