More switch help?

These are on the 1984 380sl I just recieved and I'm asking the nice people of the forum for some help until I can get some documentation

What do these buttons do to the right of the temp setter?

What is this switch on the dash ?

What do the little round knobs do just above the steering wheel in the pic? Brightness for the dash and what else?

Also, for the folks that tried to help with the other switch...
this is where it's at on the console.

Switch on dash. Rear window defogger for the HT. Wire from HT plugs in behind pass seat. Unsnap the flap.

Push knob on dash to reset the trip meter. Don't do it with vehicle in motion.

Did you find any evidence that the switch was previously related to a power convertible top?

I cannot see any wires or elements in the back glass, but there is a plug-in where you said behind the seat with wires...

As far as a power top, I didn't find anything that looked like hydraulic cylinders or anything in the trunk, so I guess I'll wait till the hardtop is off and investigate a little further.

Thanks for all your help on this!

In that position I would think its a seat warmer. Is there one on the right side too?

Yeah. I think any evidence of an old power top would be in with the convert. top. The wires are not visible in the HT rear glass. Plug it in and see if the switch lights up. You may have to wait till January there to see if it works.
