Hard top roof compatibility

I have a 1983 380SL with a slightly damaged roof.

There's a guy near me selling a 1985 380SL roof. It's actually a different color but would work, color wise.

It looks a little different, but can anyone tell me if it would indeed fit my car?

I have called the guy and am waiting for a call back, so if anyone knows for sure, that would be great. I haven't yet set myself up on EPC for this type of stuff.

Thanks. A quick answer appreciated if possible.

I believe all roofs are interchangeable.

I agree that it certainly should be between an 83 and an 85 380 - I seem to remember ( little grey cells playing up ) that someone has posted a link about the very early 107's (70's) having different middle catches ( on the pillars behind the door).

Perhaps if you have a search on the forum you'll find a earlier link from one of the "experts"!

Cheers

Jim
