Cool 300 SL Headlights

Hi
My headlights on my SL300 1991 started to play up first my main beam went out, then a month later my low beam went now I have no headlights .
If I open my door when the alarm is set my headlights flash so the bulbs/wiring must be fine any ideas.
Thanks

You've checked the fuses?

They might, I'm trying to recall how they are wired on teh W126, but I think the power for the lights flashing w/ the alarm comes from the alarm module itself, which is not on the same fuse as the headlights. Do the high beam work? Flash to pass?
