Break Question

Attention Break experts.

Question why are the front calipers on my 92 500sl so much larger then the rears?? Is it possible to put the same size calipers on the back as the fronts?? If so, would that enhance the stopping capability of the car??

Only if you brake hard while reversing fast. Normally however you'll be driving forward when braking and the weight shifts forward making the front end mostly responsible for stopping the car. The rear braking capacity was chosen by Mercedes to provide the best bias against the fronts.
