I bought my rocker end caps and the jack point hole from the Mercedes classic center and found them to be competitive in price to Miller Benz and cheaper than K&K. If you are a member of MBCA they give you a discount of 10 or 15% I believe the end cap was around $35.00

Note: Be sure to clean up the COSMOLINE (thick yellow coating) in the area you are welding. It is flammable.

Hello Abe. The person I deal with at the classic center is:
Thomas Hanson
Supervisor, Parts Operations
MBUSA, LLC 9 Whatney
Irvine, CA 92618-2808
Desk: 949-598-4842
Mobile: 949-910-3829
Fax: 949-598-4870
Email: thomas.hanson@mbusa.com

As for the welding, I bought a welder and taught myself to use it.
I do know of a 107SL owner who owns an auto body shop in Long Island, perhaps he can help you or recommend a good welder. He does have an account here under the user name Jjchones. Try PMing him and see if you get an answer. I don't know how active he is here, however I do know he is very active on the Benzworld forum under the same name. If you have an account with Benzworld, you can PM him there also.

What kind of welding did you use to do that? Is that oxy-acetylene?

I never touched a welder before starting my restoration project. I am using a mig welder with flux core wire. I practiced a little on sheet metal before I got started. I also watched a lot of how to videos on the internet. It's not that hard to do. You just have to be real careful not to burn through the sheet metal.
