560SL rear package shelf and kinderseat carpet

I'm looking into buying a carpet kit off fleabay. Can anyone tell me if the wood rear package shelf carpeting is larger in area than the seatback of a fold-down seat, or if the shelf carpet piece would be big enough to cover the seatback?
When I got my 560SL, it came with the 'kinderseat' installed, and I've never seen an actual stock shelf. None of the kits seem to have a piece cut to fit the seatback of the fold-down rear seat, so I may have to fit the standard piece myself - or sell off the seat and make up my own shelf from scratch.

It's made from particleboard (by design, I think it disintegrates in an accident); making the little retainer clips in the front might be tricky unless they are available. My carpet was shot on the 380SL, and I didn't want to spend a lot on it, so I bought "speaker carpet", which is what traveling bands cover speaker/equipment cabinets with; although it looks good in black, this is a bad idea if you actually intend to use it for anything (i.e., transporting dogs). It's impossible to clean without resorting to cheap Harbor Freight tape (a vacuum won't work); I can see that it really isn't all that durable, either (I think it's called "unstructured" carpet and doesn't have any real sewing or backing).

I don't think that these are particularly rare at the junkyard. Maybe rarer, unmolested (with speaker holes, for example).

Junkyards here DON'T have SL's, or Mercedes for that matter, but I see these occasionally on EBay, usually sold as 'custom' speaker enclosures (read, PO cut holes and now I'd like to make a buck on the molested originals).
I'm having a hard time communicating with the carpet kit supplier, so I guess I'll order with the standard piece for the shelf and either cut it to fit the jumpseat back, or make up my own shelf.
The leather on the seat is pretty worn anyway, but restorable, so I'll have a choice on that as a project, or cutting and fitting a new shelf.
