1972 450sl fuel pump troubleshooting adventure

Does anybody know where the cable to rear components plug connection is? ( the one that connects the fuel pump, tail-lights, etc to the main wiring harness ). I wanted to check but didn't plan on taking my car apart... thanks!

The wiring diagram shows a straight run from the FP relay to the pump.

Must be why I haven't found it, Haynes manual shows one, item # 55 (cable to rear component connector) on their wiring diagram. Their manuals are generally pretty good considering they cover so many different years of one model but are somewhat vague when it comes down to schematics and wiring. I suppose the real early 450's are a little different. Thanks for your help.

You will find that there aren't many intermediate harness plugs. The designed a fusebox, then built a car around it.

The Haynes manual is good for general information. Other wise it is good for the out house. Read the desciption of removing the timing chain cover. Then try it. Cost me at least a K and that is only because I had another TC cover from my parts car. It would have been more if I had to buy a new one to replace the one I cracked.
