What is this '85 380 worth?
Hi,
Today I saw an '85 380 sl with 95k miles on it. It has a new soft top and original paint. The mechanicals seem good, but there is some rust. The biggest rust spot is on the left front fender above the head light. The other spots are 2-3 minor bubbles around the wheel wells. They seem to be in the beginning stages. The tranny seems to shift ok and the engine doesn't seem to be leaking any fluids. The car recently passed state emission and mechanical inspections. Since it's an '85 it has the double row timing chain conversion. There is no rust under the car or in the trunk. The current asking price is $8,500. How much is this car worth? Thanks, Steve PS. It's always been in the northeast. |

NADA has it priced at low retail around $11,000; so the price seems well under that and it sounds like it is in good condition. Do the books check out and do you know the chain of ownership?
