Cabin Air Filter-96 SL500-Does It Have One??

I thought that the 96 SL500 had a cabin air filter yet no where in the manual does it mention one or where you go to change it. Yet when I go to a couple after market MB parts places, they have a part number for one.

Can someone clear this up for me. If I do have one, hoqw do I get to it.

Yes it should have it, pretty easy to do. Open the hood, and at the cowl in the center (in front of the wiper arm) is a fairly large plastic cover held down with 2 big phillips head screws. Just remove those and pull the cover off, it's under there.
It's just a dust filter, not a charcoal filter, so there is no switch for it, it filter incoming air at all times, just GREAT for a ragtop, right?

PS, just to doublecheck it, please remove the cover and look before ordering anything, I hate to see you order it and it's not there! I think this one comes as a set, there are 2 of them that sort of interlock together, forming a rather large area.

Thanks, I did figure it out on my own yesterday. I bet the old one had not been changed in 14 years!! Went to ny MB dealer and bought a new one and installed it.
