1971 280sl ventilation knobs

My question is are the ventilation knobs supposed to be colored or black in this year 280sl? The car i have has low miles(14,000), but the knobs are all gone. I'm concerned about the seats too, the horsehair is holding up ok, but with use, i'm sure it will deteriorate rapid. It's feeling "crunchy".Any suggestions?

pretty certian they are black, the horse hair crunch is common with the old seats. They can be replaced without issue, you can DIY but it is tedious work. While you are in there you can refurbish any springs that have broken
