They cut away the bent stuff and now it's a little short. I will get it back on Saturday and start on getting it running. Sheet metal from the dealer comes in at 1,300$ for each inner fender and 300$ for each of the headlight buckets, compared to a yard in Trenton that will sell me the nose framework for 200$.

I already picked up a used fender and headlights. I still need the radiator, that nose framework, hood, grill and front bumper.

I found a friend of friend that will do the work in Maryland (some 4 hours away) to the tune of 45$/hour, so if I can get it running and the hood & grill aren't too expensive, it will be a drivable car before xmas.

Hey, I've been following this post... You found a yard in Trenton with an SL in it? Can you give me some more info on that please? I'm 20 mins from there if that, and I need a bunch of interior parts (no body parts no worries we wont be completing).

Might want to give this guy a call for the hood / grill as well...

Thx for the lead on that car. I have been trying to be a good boy and not spend too much time on craig's list. That was how I got this poor thing.

The car came home on Saturday morning and I spent time yesterday getting acquainted with the engine compartment. The mangled sheet metal was cut off by the shop. They cut the hood wiring and the temp sensor. Both are fixable. The cut the broken brake lines to the ABS, I will need to source replacements for those and a picture of a healthy ABS unit to figure out where the lines go.

The car now has a 560 radiator, which doesn't fit, but it's water tight. I used the original overflow tank. It has four openings on it.
- Big one to the radiator
- little one on the filler neck to the radiator
- little one on the top, has a metal insert exposed
- little one on the bottom pointing towards the passenger compartment
What do I do with those last two?

There is a hose from under the engine controls area that has a 129 part number painted on it. Looks like a basic 7mm black line. What is it for, what does it connect to?

For the ignition, one of the coils was torn from the wiring and one is still attached. It seems that both coils have a red/white wire attached to one stud (right?), while one coil has a pair of black/yellow wires going to the 2nd stud while the other coil has a pair of black wires going to the 2nd stud. Which coil goes to which cylinder bank? I can't think of why it would matter though.

Four questions is enough for today. Thx -CTH
