performance chip

I'm thinking of adding a performance chip on my 98 sl,The car is pretty much stock except for the K&N filters I am about to install.Any ideas what might be the best choice for me.what if any are the risks of adding the chip. One company I saw whats you to mail the part to them, they would program and return to you overnight

Normally aspirated cars don't really benefit from 'chip tuning'. It may move the available power around the rev-range, but it won't 'make' more power.

But for example, cars with turbos, like my Audi twin turbo Rs6, gained 65 hp and about as much in torque all from a $400 chip.

Just my 2 cents... :)

Oh last weekend seen a brand new BMW inline 6 cylinder roadster with a GForce resistor.
He claimed his mileage went up too.
GForce has been advertising here at peachparts,so must be good.

I once again reinstalled my chip,I was missing my instant pedal, and take off power. These resistors do work with my other mods.Make sense the resistor advances timing, and enriches the fuel.I gave engine more air and colder than stock. So the chip works on my car.
