AC question on condenser wiring 72SL

So another item on my car that is not stock is the wiring to the AC condenser , right now it goes to an on off switch hidden under the dash. A kind lister has sent me a nice OEM switch and now I need to figure out how to go back to original. Can anyone tell me where the 2 wires off the condenser go before the switch. The PO has a wire going from the condenser throught the firewall to this switch , I know that cant be right.
Better yet a switch wiring diagram?

Is that switch wired to the auxiliary fan in front of the condensor?

Are you talking about the switch on the drier? Looks something like this.

no the two wires I am trying to figure out come out of a clip connection on the side of the AC clutch. I assume when closed tell the clutch to engage on the condenser

That's the compressor. I did not put it back on my '73 when I rebuilt the engine. I will try to remember to check the wiring tomorrow. I think it is still there but it probably just goes into a loom.

Maybe the P.O. wired around a bad 'low pressure' switch on the A/C system?

To replace the 'stock' switch would mean depressurizing the system, wouldn't it? Someone may not have had the time/inclination/equipment/funds to do the job right.

You might have to go through the system with a schematic to find out exactly what the purpose of the switch is. Then figure out how to get it to work "right". You'll be most of the way there.

Good luck.

What colors did you find? I found what I think is the correct connector on the '72 parts car. Brown and blue with either a green or yellow tracer. Traced it back to the firewall.
