AC compressor now runs all the time?

So as I mentioned in a previous post, the PO ran a separate switch to turn on and off the AC. I have replaced now the original AC temp switch and all connections are as they should be, but now the compressor runs all the time, I dont think it is the wiring but I could be wrong. The Compressor has two wires, hot and ground the hot runs to the switch I replaced.
Assuming everything is correct wire wise, what else in the early SL circuitry would cause the darn thing to run all the time, I guess the previous owner had the same issue and just bypassed it.

Is there a relay or some other unit that tells it to run. Sure looks simple on the wire diagram , but sure does not work. I have it disconnected for now,i seldom if ever use the AC, just one of those things I would like to work properly
Any ideas?

It sounds like the wiring, if he wired a switch then the pressure switch on the dryer is not going to work because it's already been bypassed. Do you have a wiring diagram? I think I have a CD manual somewhere which details it.

I think I do, but I am with you, gotta be in the bypass he did - just little time to play with it to figure it out

My first "smell" of the problem also suspects the pressure switch. But that's only a "Karnak The Magnificent" moment. Or I'm finally getting the acid flashbacks they promised me in the 60's.

The replacement of the pressure switch would involve evacuating and recharging the system, I seem to remember. The P.O. may have "gonne cheap" and bypassed the system.
