280sl euro shop manual advise/help

I'm in the US, purchased a 1981 280sl w/twin cam. I'm looking for where I might find a service manual in english, not German. I've been advised by friends to contact Mercedes in Germany. Does anyone have any helpful tips. I know my car is considered grey market here, so the cd rom versions are only US models available. I also wanted to get a build sheet on my car, so I need to contact Mercedes ? This is my first Mercedes, so I'm not familiar with this car yet. So far, this car is a pleasure to drive, and a lot of fun.

Someone advised me to get a 280E, or 280ce manual and that it might cover my twin cam 6 ?

Please let me know if you find a source for this info! I have a 84 SL280 and continuosly looking for info on this car!

Mercedes Classic Center advised me to purchase from MBUSA the engine manual for the 110 engine. It was in english, and shipped in two days. The cost was $35.00. This will be a good reference for me, and whoever works on the car. The book is about 3 inches thick, and the pictures are good.

I think the 107 chassis manual would work for body. I'm going to wait on the chassis. I called MBUSA, asked for Bernard. He assisted me with the technical publications available.
