'79 450SL repair question
Hello, I'm trying to prep my newly acquired 450SL for selling...the body is great as well as the motor, when it actually starts. It keeps turning over but it starts only when the car feels like it. It seems to start well when the motor its cold outside so I'm stuck driving the thing only in the early morning or evenings. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to avoid paying a MB dealer hundreds of dollars for something I can do myself for much less. It has 135k miles on it if this info helps. Thanks.

My 79 450SL has a similar problem. Starts great cold, and has to crank with some "feathering" of the accelerator when even a little bit warm. There is a good chance it is the cold start control. This is located at the top, left front of the engine (passenger side) next to the distributor. This can be adjusted, but im told, not by the uninitiated. I have not tried it on mine. I suggest this as a place to start. Good Luck
