1987 560sl trouble shooting
hi all,
i recently sold my 1988 porsche 944 turbo and replaced it with a 103xxx mile 1987 560sl. i've always loved how these cars look and really appreciate mid 80's mercedes build quality. i bought my 560sl as a non runner with a cracked oil pan and worn engine mounts. i had my mechanic replace the following: - oil pan - oil pan gasket - engine mounts - all the belts - A/T Filter & Pan Gasket - Air Filter - Fuel Filter - Oil Filter - Power Steering Filter - and all the fluids the car runs great, really smooth power and balance, i love it! i'm trouble shooting a few minor problems, so far i've fixed the sticking roof latch mechanism but am stumped by: - inoperative tach, it doesn't even flicker when i turn the ignition on - inoperative coolant temp gauge, the needle flickers slightly when i turn the car on but stays dead otherwise i've checked the fuses, they looked good but i still took the relevant ones out and replaced them with out any success on the above problems. any thoughts on where should i look next? thanks! danny
