Hello All, Wife was driving her summer toy tonight. She lost power windows, turn signals (emergency flashers work) and all gauges except vacuum/economy. All fuses check out fine. Going through my CD manual it looks like the code 10 relay may be bad, but in the schematics it doesn't look like it controls this many items, when I look at the power distribution side. Car runs and drives just fine except for above noted issues. Any ideas on what to check next? Thanks in advance

All of the issues you mention are related to fuse 5.

Though all the fuses appear good, there is a chronic problem in our cars related to oxidation caused by aluminum fuses in copper fuse holders. Even if you have copper fuses, I'd guess that's still the problem with your... excuse me... her vehicle.

I'd recommend cleaning all the fuse ends as well as the contacts of all the fuse holders. If they are the aluminum fuses, I would probably also replace with copper fuses at your earliest convenience.... Probably cost all of 5 bucks.

If you just bought this car and/or it isn't used often, I'd replace ALL the fuses with upgraded gold/copper tipped fuses (the reason that some are gold-plated is that low-current fuses make better contact this way, gold doesn't tarnish at all, copper kind of spot/vacuum welds with higher current). Many mysterious problems will disappear or never happen in the first place. These fuses are a PITA to replace safely, and personally, I'd disconnect the battery while methodically replacing them one at a time.

Yes they are a PITA to get to. I did disco the battery to clean them, but did pop one out and still cannot find it. My local Autozone had one pack left and they had never sold them before. Any good supplier suggestions for the gold-tipprd ones? I assume a good contact-cleaner would help before installing the new fuses?

They're common with a lot of older European cars; Volkswagen, Volvo Saab, Mercrdes.

Use a (tiny) dab of contact grease on each end when reassembling, to prevent oxidation. No oxygen, no oxidation.
