Replacing Carpets

I was curious if anyone that has replaced their carpets in a 107 has any advice on how to remove the foam pads from the carpets without destroying them.

I really would not re-use them; measure them and replace them. It's amazing that mine held up at all, but they were old, and stinky; I glued new foam on with contact cement.

Thanks, mine are in really nice shape.
What kind of foam did you use? I saw some foam mats for the kitchen at Sams Club the other day. They were closed cell and about the right size. Was thinking I could maybe use that if I messed mine up removing them.

Had to remind myself, so just went out and looked at my carpets.

On the passenger side, the pad was still good, so I re-used it.

On the driver's side the pad had disintegrated. I made a new pad out of two layers of 5/16" black Eco foam carpet underlay that I bought at Home Depot (Canada). It worked well.

I don't recall having any problem getting passenger side pad off. But I have forgotten how I did it! Perhaps if you can peel up one edge and get some solvent (adhesive remover, Varsol or??) started in between the pads and the carpet, you may be able to pry the pad?
