R107 Seats - will a manual powered 190E seat fit in an R107?
Saw a nice pr of 190E seats - they are powered - but I know some 190E models have manual seats - has anyone put these into a R107? If so - how do they fit? Did you have to redrill holes in the bottom rail?

I won't say that you can't make them fit, but it's certainly not a bolt-in.

I noticed R107 - at least early ones - have rails along side of rocker - not on floor - so tomorrow when I see a manual 190E seat I will know for sure
Took rough measurements of SL seat It is 21 inches wide and 19 inches deep and seat back is around 23 inches high(not counting head rest)

Seat rails on all R107s are side mounted.

One of the biggest complications for finding seats for a 107 is that the mounting rails are attached from the sides, rather than the bottom. The "tray" is very shallow in these cars, and any addition of aftermarket seats has to take that into account.
There have been reports of people using seats from other sports convertibles, such a Jaguars, that requires some fabrication to fit. The nicest "recycled" seats that I've seen photos of were some custom re-upholstered seats froom a Saab 9000. In fact, as I accumulate the funds, I'm looking for a set of those. I have definitely determined that the power seats from a '93 Lexus ES350 will NOT work. If anyone wants a pair of seats for a '93 Lexus, I can hook you up cheap. Scott
