Strange Brake leak

I have a 1984 300sl with a weird brake leak when you press the brake pedal it sprays fluid on the passanger side next to some kind of modual or unit I dont know what it is. Any idea what this might be?

I have attached a picture of where the leak is in red and the unit or modual is to the right of the red circle.

Dave

the hard metal brake line runs back there, it probably is rusted out or it got punctured somehow.

agree, and needs to be fixed before driving, need to remove replace , probably have to bend your own lines, purge system while you are at it , bleed properly , renew fluids and then you are good to go..

The area is near your battery. The same area in my car has had a corrosion problem when at some point a battery leaked. It is possible that your brake line got damaged from this. Look at the passenger side firewall for further evidence of this problem.
