Mercedes 280sl and 450slc

I want to sell my cars together, ideal for export. I had a party interested and want to bring them to Spain. Apparently, these cars are rare over there. The 280sl is a 6 cylinder DOHC 5 speed stick shift and the 450slc is V8 automatic. Both are running condition. Please no emails and no text. Call 305-302-9498

Where are you and how much are you asking? What happened with the party in Spain? Expensive to ship.

I really don't understand why you posted this. Post some pictures of each and the asking price separately. The '78 is not a very desirable model unless it is a 107.026. The 280 while not rare here is popular with some.

My interest has waned but at least posting mileage, price and a few pics would weed out tire kickers.

I am in Miami, FL. The party interest from Spain said they only have room for 1 more car this time around in the container, so it will have to wait for the next trip. The 280sl has 112K miles, the 450slc 137K. I have some pics of the 280sl on my profile. When I click insert image here, it ask for IRL and I dont know how to do that. Send me an email address and I can send pics and pricing.

Don't click Insert Image. Go Advanced in your reply, and add it as an attachment.

That's fine, i have a 450SLC 5.0 which had to have the core support replaced. The hit was not particularly hard, but you could either drill out the spot welds and replace or pull it. It looks cleaner when replaced.

Al. You know how yours was damaged. If the reason for replacement is documented with say pictures or the entire repair order you will know how severe the damage was.

Otherwise it is a coin toss on the quality of the repairs and the extent of the damages.

The core support is pretty easy to eye ball and know if the repair is good. Quarter panels, floor pans and rocker panels are more difficult to identify, which does not necessarily mean that the repair was done well well. I don't think that this is such a big deal. I would account for it, and include it as part of the negotiations.

In the 20-40 years that these cars have been on the road, we should expect for most of them have had some kind of accident damage in the past. Personally, I'd be more worried about rust.

One problem. I can't eyeball it. I understand what you say. I have 2 with the upper core support replaced and no problem with the one that runs. The other is a parts car but that is another story.
