Mystery Part

Help !!!

I just purchased a 1984 380 SL and I love it. It is in pretty good shape, Runs Excellent, Body good but very small rust bubbles around gas cap which I intend to have fixed when I have it painted.

I had the typical trouble with the hard top sticking but I spun the top and was able to get it to release and then I adjusted the cable.

My main problem is that I found a part in the glove compartment and I don't know what it is. I have attached a picture so maybe someone could help me identify it, it is a smallish black box with the following part number on it 001 545 5305. Everything seems to be working so I'm not sure if it is an old part that was replaced or what.

Well, I looked up the part and found out that it is a Fuel Pump Cut Off Relay. Not that I know what that is !! ) It has a date of 3/7/86 on it which is newer than the car (1984). I suppose it is not necessary.

The part showed up as a $113 part so I guess I'll sell it. If anyone is interested you can E-Mail me at johngruggiero@hotmail.com
