SL500 Window Won't go Up
 

My 1999 Mercedes SL500 drivers side window will not go up. The motor still works because it will function with the convertible top up and down.

You can hear the motor run but there is no motion?

Shine a light into the windos opening and bump the switch , can you see any linkage move? On some cars the regulator becomes detached from the glass and goes up and down. Be carefull if this is the case as it can scrach the glass / break it.

If no motion, it is likely the motor drive gear has stripped.

The motor is not running when you hit the switch, the switch works fine putting the window down. It will not raise the window

Possibly a bad switch. Can be tested by swapping left and right switches.
