Fuel pumps

Thought I would do some preventative maintenance on my vehicle and removed the fuel pumps for my 1989-- 560SL. (Car was running but the pumps were over 8 yrs old).

After opening the package for the aftermarket pumps noticed that the end fittings are completely different. (Different aftermarket MFG??)

So I thought I would hook the old ones back up while I was waiting.... Wrong!!!!!!!!

Questions:

1. Which wire is positive and Which is negative? (Looks like Brown & Blk with what looks like more insulation)??
2. Are the pumps hooked up in series? Looks like it to me!
3. Car would run then die out (Got it to go around the block) and now I cannot get it to fire up!!
4. The fittings on my fuel pumps are male coarse thread and utilize the banjo type fittings on one end and hose fittings at the other end. washers.
5. Is there any technical information anywhere?

Thanks

Model 107

Don't use aftermarket pumps. Bosch 69608 is the OE pump and available for less than $100.00. Google it. Aren't the wiring posts different sizes? Never look at the '560 but on all earlier models I have replaced they can only be hooked up one way. The negative post is larger than the positive. The Negative wire was also solid brown.

I used aftermarket pumps from efuelpumps.com on my 560 with no problems.

I originally installed aftermarket pumps that were less than $50/ea. They have lasted over 8 yrs.

Thanks
