new owner of 1993 500sl

i just bought today a like new 500sl with 77000 miles white in color.
very well documented and cared for.
i noticed the antenna doesnt go up when the radio is on and cant seem to be able to control the outside mirrors.
other than that perfect with not a single scratch.
what upgrades are well worth doing?

Possibly the nylon shaft in the antenna is broken or disconnected from the actuator arm. Their are repair kits for this antenna. Hirshman. Be sure to turn the mirror switch either left or right before trying the adjustments. No upgrades are necessary on a $100k Car. But maybe some aftermarket cub holders?

I received mine with 18s already mounted. 18x8.5 245/40 front 18x9.5 275/35 rear. Also with H&R sport springs and what I believe are Bilstein B4 shocks/struts.

One thing to be aware of is a good name brand front tire that will resist tramlining (pulling towards ruts or uneven surfaces in the road) since they are so wide. Maybe 17s and/or going with 235s may help.
Although my Goodyear Eagle F1s are a bit dated and the rears are a little newer Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas.

It tramlines, but not too harshly, and takes corners like a go-cart. Pretty smooth ride considering the low pro tires.

I always upgrade my HU in my cars. Fortunately the PO already did that with a decent Kenwood KDC-448U, door speakers and an older Alpine V12 F300 4 ch amp.
I think it's better than stock, and sounds as good as the Bose in my sister's 00 E320 4Matic.

If you ever buy a new antenna and want to sell your old, let me know. Mine came with none at all, and I just want something to fill the hole.
Currently I made a plastic cover to seal it from rain.
