OIL CHANGE

My 86 3005l is coming due for an oil change and was wondering what oil should I use. The paper's that came with the car said that the motor was rebuilt about three years ago. Not sure if the p.o. used synthetic or not. I was always leary of synthetic.

Do you have an owners manual? The info you need is there.

The engine was designed with dino oil in mind. That being said.......oil is oil as far as I'm concerned. If it meets manufacturers specs then it's good to go.

Question really is what weight do you need?

Most run 15-40 or 20-50.

You might want to rethink that if you are driving regularly in cold temps. And I don't mean Florida cold.

Like Nobby said, consult your owners manual for climate/viscosity.

In any event, synthetics are fine, and for non-synth, I like a diesel rated 15-40 oils, as they have a better additive pak than gasoline only rated oils.
