fuel pump relay?

I found out on my 86sl that it would only stay running with a hot wire going to the fuel pump. It would only start and run for a few seconds otherwise. For now we ran a relay from the battery to the pump and was trying to find a hot wire in the trunk compartment for the relay. We finally wired it into the power antenna but now the radio has to be on for it to run. Oh well at least it's running and it's a good theft deterant. Greg.Where's the factory fuel pump located? I've go a M-103 engine, Thanks.

I think the fuel pump relay will be in the same location as a 560SL Components Locations Acronyms Pics - Mercedes-Benz Forum Remove glove box liner to access. Assuming it is a LHD 107 300SL.

more problems

sorry, will do.In fact I was just going to write again. Sorry if I'm being a pain but you guys are really helpfull and I appreciate it! Anyway it's always something. I found a missing vacuum line going to the charcoal cannister and reconnected it after I changed my oil today. It seems to run smoother or maybe my imagination. But now my tach. all of a sudden quit working. Is it on a fuse? The clock never did work but I'm o.k. with that. Also I have a front end shimmy at 40 but I'll tackle that next weekend. Thanks again. Greg.

fpr

I didn't look yet but my tach's working again. Funny thing,it started only working when the hood was open. It turned out to be that the driver's side hood spring must've been shorting out some wires when the hood closed. I isolated the spring with some electrical tape and now it's working when I close the hood.
