1973 450sl heater fan switch

New member..I have a new heater fan switch to install. Need some tips on removing the heater control panel that has the slides etc. and tips will be helpful.

you will need to remove ash tray , you will see screw connection tabs, IIRC there are also two tucked up at the top. All controls are attached to that panel, all knobs and levers pull off, the switches are attached by the chrome rings , sometimes will have a little slot that you can use to start loosening them , finish by hand. Lots of stuff back there YOu will also have to remove the audio system as most of the time the face plate and provides some locking to the control panel
