380sl Brake Pad Differences

According to the MB parts catalog for my 81 380sl, 0004209520 was replaced by 0004209920. Does anyone happen to know the difference between these pads, and whether I'd have a problem using the older version?

Thanks in advance for any info.

I have no knowledge on your example, but typically when brake pads get superseded, the new part will fill more applications. If the first part number is what your car called for in 1981, then you should be safe. But, if you read it in reverse order, the earlier pad could be for a 114 or 115 without the wear sensor slot. When i had a 73 280CE I ran into that, they didn't make the pads that were on it, (at least where I looked) instead they had wear sensor slots that weren't used.

Thanks for the info. I checked it out, and it appears that the pads will be fine.
