Windshild leak regardless of which top is installed

I used to think the soft top had a bad leak, but I drove this week with the hard top installed and got the same leak. It seemed the water was dripping from the sun visor hinge, so I took the trim off the interior windshield header & A-pillars and removed the sun visors and drove in the rain again. I got a view of the water coming out from under the edge of the top trim at the driver's side A-pillar when turning right. (It may come out the passenger side when turning left, but I didn't witness it.)

I've included a picture showing where the water comes out. The other picture is where I believe the water is coming in. I've never had the top trim off the windshield header.
- I have it unscrewed, but what is the trick to removing it?
- Is there foam or rubber beneath it?
- The rubber on the edges of the windshield covers a tab on each end of the trim. Can the trim be removed/replaced without destroying that old rubber seal?
- Can I simply pound the leading edge of the trim down into its "seat" with a rubber hammer?

Thanks!!

the trouble with air leaks and water infiltraion on my 107 was inferior aftermarket rubber seals. That siad all mating surfaces should be level and true. I have an extra top trim piece so I know I took it off at somepoint on one of my parts cars, I do think it had an adhesive strip but dont quote me on that , I also think there are screws where you indicate under the rubber seal
Is the rubber on both tops on good shape? and is it drawing down tightly?

The rubber is still very pliable(?) on the windshield header and the tops. They seem to draw down tight.

On another forum someone asked if the gaskets for the pins that lock into the windshield were still there. They were not. I looked at the ones that go in by the seatbelts and bought some nylon washers and trimmed them to fit very tightly in the windshield header and the hard top latched down nicely.

I think I'll put some clear acrylic calk along the bent leading edge just to keep the water out. I'll have to replace that piece, I imagine.
